Heikki eventually pulled the car up onto the drive where Sam and Davy lived in their apartment. Of course Sven lived here too, didn't he? Or, spent most of his off time when he wasn't performing or out with his band mates. The Finn shut off the engine and got out, pocketing his phone and knocking on the door twice. Hopefully, Sam would hear him from inside.
Sam was startled by the knock at first and came to the door. He's been relaxing and is only wearing a pair of teal blue, velvet bellbottom pants and one of his flowered hats. He wasn't thinking how this might look to the Finn who was arriving. This was how he hung out with his bandmates.
Opening the door he smiled and motioned for Heikki to come in. "I started making the drinks."
Or rather he had juiced the limes and lemons for them.
As soon as Sam opened the door up the Finn instantly noticed the boy wasn't wearing a shirt and was dressed in blue pants and a cute flowered hat. Oh---but he had such a slim, handsome body---
"Oh--you have? Well, let me help. You have nice blue pants on and a cute flower hat I see."
The bassist couldn't help but stare a little because Sam was cute and very attractive. Also, the way his long legs fitted in those blue pants was sexy. The whole thought about lemon and limes just knocked out of his thoughts right now.
Heikki wasn't trying to make it obvious that he liked Sam because maybe that would come across as pushy or unwelcome. The Finn smiled and stepped into the house following Sam to the kitchen.
"No, I like them as bitter as possible."
Was that weird? The Finn didn't think so because he liked fruit without anything added. Just the natural product. Sam was so tall and lithe though! His legs were perfect in those blue bell bottoms too.
"I think it sour too." Sam smiled and started mixing the juice with cold water and a little club soda. "They are better here since I can go down and pick them fresh."
It was nice just spending time with Sam like this and making limeade with the boy. He seemed to shy and part of that was appealing to Heikki, who just wanted to make him feel better.
"I forget that LA has a fresh supply of citrus fruits. The weather here can get very hot and I'm still not used to the powerful sun. Poor Jorgen gets sunburnt a lot because he's very fair."
That boy got burnt recently, didn't he? At a pool party with Jerry.
Sam added some ice and then offered one of the glasses to Heikki. "I don't burn much." Partially because Sam didn't sit out in the sun alot. "Davy has dark hair and burns but his skin is pale."
Sam shrugged and then headed into the living room for somewhere comfortable to sit.
"I don't burn much either because where I'm from we get a lot of sun exposure during the summer months when the sun doesn't set below the horizon for many months."
Heikki didn't make a habit to sit out in the direct sunlight because that was inviting trouble. You could still burn even with dark hair just like poor Davy. The Finn preferred the winter months anyway. Taking the drink he thanked Sam and followed the drummer out into the living room.
Heikki was impressed with Davy's tidiness and knew Jorgen could take some examples from the American because he was such a messy person. The Finn knew this more than anyone having to share a room with him.
"I share a room back at the apartments with Jorgen and he's all over the place throwing his clothes on the floor and so untidy."
"I don't like when things get too messy." Sam wasn't as tidy as Davy but he didn't hate it like the guitarist. "If Sven does that Davy will kick his ass."
"I don't blame you because I'm always telling Jorgen off for leaving our room in such a state. That boy can't sit still for five seconds before he's off screaming and boozing until the cows come home."
Heikki knew it was just his nature but still---there was no excuse for the boy to throw his clothes everywhere. At least Sam had a tidy head on him.
"Sven might get another slap to add to his count if he makes a mess."
"Joey is untidy too? I've seen him running about the place with an older man. He seems to be happy."
Heikki didn't know some of the other tour members because he'd not met them yet. Joey though--he sounded like high maintenance just like Jorgen. Davy was a prissy tart from what he'd been told about the boy.
"Not really but he's loud and drunk." Sam nodded. "He's in bed with Mick's uncle but he's always in bed with someone."
Sam bit his lip and frowned. "Well... um.. Davy's dad doesn't like what he looks like and... I've heard him call Davy a bitch and shove him around." Sam didn't like his own pain let alone this friends'. "I think Davy's dad has called him that a long time and hurt him and his mom. I don't know. Davy doesn't talk about it much."
"Jorgen is the same. Loud, high and drunk most of the time. He's like a human whirlwind who can't sit still and gets worn out by doing all of this until he burns out."
Heikki was surprised to know that Joey was in bed with Mick's uncle. Wasn't Mick that guitarist for Ziggy? Then, how old was his uncle? It must be quite an age gap but the Finn wasn't about to judge.
"What the fuck? That's not ok at all. His dad sounds like a complete bastard."
The bassist was surprised to hear this and was honestly angry. Davy's dad was a piece of crap by the sounds of it.
Sam had one as well. The only one that didn't was Davy but he had family things to take care of so the band understood, so did Sam.
"He's an asshole. I do know he left Davy's mom because she got sick and he thought it was ugly and embarrassing for her to be sick." Sam scowled. "She's so pretty and he's such a jerk."
"I don't think I know what Joey's job is aside from being bassist for your band."
Heikki was still getting to know everyone and finding out new things with the tour members. Fuck this father! What kind of man would do such a thing to his family? To walk out on his wife and abandon his son? A sick fuck that's what.
"You are right. He is an asshole. Vitun roska in my tongue. A fucking piece of trash."
The Finn just shook his head knowing that if he met this guy he'd earn a punch or two from a very angry and tall Finn.
"Oh, well, I might get my band mates to visit him and try out his food sometime."
Heikki made a note to do this and probably guessed that Mick's uncle knew where it was being Joey's boyfriend. It was nice that City Charms had jobs outside of being rock stars.
"Poor Davy. It must be hard for him and his mother working against an asshole like that. Your family is too? I'm sorry to hear that."
The Finn just frowned hearing all the trouble these young boys had to deal with here in LA.
"It is? Well, I'll foreworn my band just in case they can't deal with the spice because we're just not used to trying different cuisine."
The Finn was up for trying new food whilst here in LA and Joey's cooking was probably really good. He was a decent bass player and Heikki liked his technique on the strings from watching performances.
"Haven't wanted you? Oh, Sam---that's a horrible thing to say. Are they assholes too?"
Heikki just felt a knot screw up inside his stomach and he wasn't sure why. Anger? Frustration that he couldn't take the boy's obvious pain away? Perhaps a mix of both. He was so young too.
Sam just looked down at his drink and sighed heavily. "They threw me out because... the people I grew up around thinks being gay is.. wrong."
Sam started to pull his long legs up and want to disappear. He didn't like thinking about them too much. "My boyfriend, his family didn't throw him out. They sent him away to make him not be gay."
Sam couldn't say any more and felt the tears trying to start. Watching Davy with Sven had put him on edge for some reason lately. He missed his boyfriend even if they could never be with each other again.
"It isn't wrong. Being who you are is your choice in life and not up to those around you to dictate. Fuck them."
Heikki was becoming even more pissed off at Sam and Davy's family. Their asshole parents who had narrow-minded views about sexuality. The poor kid. No one should have to go through that and the Finn could see how much it upset him.
"I'm sorry, Sam. You don't deserve that, nor did your boyfriend. I wish I could help fix your problems because I would."
Damn those fucking bastards! Sam was fine being gay as was anyone else. How dare they treat him like this! The bassist put a hand on Sam's arm and squeezed.
for Sam
